• Christina W. Giles is the principal in MEDICAL STAFF SOLUTIONS, a consulting firm specializing in educational seminars, just-in-time training, survey preparation for hospitals, managed care organizations and CVO’s, assessment and re-structuring of medical staff organizational structures in the hospital environment, , MCO’s, and CVO’s, organizational and file audits for compliance with JC and NCQA standards, education and training of credentialing personnel and medical staff leadership concerning their responsibilities for leading the medical staff organization and for assuring compliance with accrediting standards, development/revision of medical staff bylaws and related documents, policies and procedures, development/revision of credentialing processes and acco
mpanying procedures for hospitals, physician organizations, managed care and credentialing verification organizations. She is a founding partner of EDGE-U-CATE, LLC an educational resource company that provides products on various topics including accreditation compliance, allied health professionals, credentialing, delegation, legal and regulations, general management, management of MSO’s, Meeting Management, Privileging, Professional Development, Quality Management and Performance Improvement, Customer Service and other timely topics.
• Chris has over 30 years experience working in teaching and community hospitals, and as a consultant serving hospitals, physician group practices, managed care organizations, PHO’s and CVO’s.
• Chris has a B.A. in Education and a M.S. in Human Service Management. She has been certified by the National Association of Medical Staff Services (NAMSS) since 1984, served as President of the Massachusetts Association of Medical Staff Services from 1984-85 and as northeast regional representative on the NAMSS Board of Directors from 1985-86. She has been a NAMSS instructor since 1989 and as a member of the NAMSS Education Council. She has written, developed and presented educational programs for both state and national audiences. She served as an instructor for a distance learning associates degree program in Medical Staff Services at El Centro College, Dallas, TX for six years and currently is on the advisory board for the program. She was a NCQA surveyor for credentialing verification organizations. She also serves as an editorial advisor to C&R Publications: Advisor For Medical & Professional Staff Services, to HcPro as editorial advisor to Credentialing Resource Center and Credentialing & Peer Review Legal Insider. She also served as a member of the Education Council to Aspen Publishers for the publication: Medical Staff Management, as contributing editor to The Credentialing Handbook published by Aspen; co-author and editor of The Medical Staff Services Handbook: Fundamentals & Beyond, published by Jones & Bartlett Publishers and co-author and editor of HealthCare Credentialing: A Guide to Practical Innovations, published by Wolters Kluwer/Aspen Publishers.
